Our Story
Rooted in the Community. Built for Champions.
Blazer Elite Academy's roots are planted in the old Fritz Forbes Panthers Basketball Club, all the way back in the early 1980s. It evolved into Blazers Basketball Club in the late 1990s and stayed there for almost 15 years, where the main focus was just on the members of the club.
In late 2013, Coach Kevin Harvey spoke with the visionary of Blazers Basketball about expanding the reach of the club — and that was the birth of Blazer Elite Academy. Over the next few years, Blazer Elite opened sites in Turks & Caicos, Jamaica, Trinidad & Tobago, and of course the Bahamas.
Since opening its doors to the wider Bahamas and Caribbean, Blazer Elite has helped over 250 students pursue their dreams of playing sports abroad. Evolution has now come to Blazer Elite Academy. We have adjusted the name to Blazer Elite Sports Academy and officially opened in September 2023 for Grades 7–12, along with a prep component.

Dr. Ray Evans
CEO & Head Coach
Since joining Blazer Elite Academy, Dr. Ray Evans has played a crucial role in the continued success of the business. His exceptional skill set, true passion, and creativity has inspired massive growth. Dr. Evans is the visionary of Blazer Elite and in his over 25 years of coaching both locally and abroad, he has had only one losing season. He has helped hundreds of students achieve their goals of attending school abroad and has had the pleasure of coaching in the USA, Canada, Jamaica, Trinidad & Tobago, Turks & Caicos, as well as his home — the Bahamas.
Kevin Harvey

After a thriving career in many different businesses, Blazer Elite Academy was pleased to welcome Kevin Harvey to the team. Coach Harvey brings over 30 years of coaching and mentoring experience. He has served as the President of Blazer Elite T.C.I. since the inception in 2013.
